A dedicated engineer on your team, fully managed by us — recruiting, contracts, local benefits, and ongoing HR support included.

Who this page is for
This page is about our Nearshore IT Staffing model — a full-time developer embedded in your team, with BetterWay handling recruiting, the contractor engagement through our US company, real local benefits, and ongoing HR support. If you'd rather run your own hiring process and just need a specialized sourcing partner in Latin America, that's our IT Recruiting service — see how direct-hire recruiting works →
How the model works
Three things happen behind the scenes so your developer shows up ready to work, and stays: the contractor engagement and payroll mechanism, the benefits structure, and the ongoing relationship. Here's each one, in plain terms.
Your developer is engaged as an independent contractor through BetterWay's company in the United States — a lighter-weight hiring structure than a foreign employer-of-record arrangement, with less setup and overhead for you. The difference from a typical contractor engagement is what we build on top of it: locally administered benefits, occupational health support, and an HR team that stays involved for the life of the engagement — the kind of structure contractors don't usually get. You direct the work day to day. We handle the contractor relationship behind it.
We negotiate and confirm your developer's compensation in USD before you commit to anything — no rate card, no markup buried in a blended number. We also help developers legally receive and manage USD income in their home country, which is part of why retention on our placements holds up over time: the person isn't just well-paid, they understand exactly how that pay reaches them.
Every developer we place receives real, locally administered benefits: private health insurance, 15 days of paid time off, and occupational health support to keep remote work sustainable long-term. This is set up and managed in the developer's own country, in their language — benefits most contractor arrangements don't include, layered on top of a lighter-weight hiring structure.
Regular HR check-ins, a welcome kit, Engineer Day, birthday recognition, and knowledge-sharing sessions — some co-branded with your company to reinforce that the developer is part of your team, not a vendor's headcount. Low turnover isn't an accident; it's the result of someone actively managing the developer relationship for the life of the engagement.
Need to provide a laptop or other equipment? We can add computer rental and other agreed extras directly to your invoice — one bill, no separate vendor relationship to manage.
